Mark initially qualified as a general registered nurse in 1991. Mark is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and The Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland. After four years fulltime education at the British School of Osteopathy, Mark qualified with an honours degree. He worked in London, Cornwall and Merrion Square (Dublin) and then opened his own clinic in Wexford in 1999. He taught osteopathy for two years at undergraduate level before qualifying after three further years as an acupuncturist. This was consolidated by further training in China. He studied sports osteopathy for one year in Leeds at Masters Level. He has a special interest in body mechanics and rehabilitation of both athletes and people presenting with non-athletic injuries. Mark believes passionately in promoting the body’s own innate healing ability. Treatment is often challenging, compound and centrally mediated (person centred), Mark uses the principle of similarity in order to best stimulate recovery of the individual. Mark is very creative in his use of exercises and does not believe in a rigid, protocol driven model that takes no account of the individual. Mark also runs a full time Martial Arts gym in Wexford, having been involved with Martial Arts for over 25 years he trains semi-professional fighters, he has taught and competed at International level.
